Currently, she is an Assistant Professor of English at Tennessee State University whose love for film photography was ignited from the time she could hold a camera.

When she was twelve, her mother gave me her first camera. Several years later, she took her first photography course at the local community college and fell in love with black and white photography. Later, she was a darkroom technician for the University of South Alabama’s archives, where her love for darkroom printing grew. She also taught an introduction to Black and White photography course for the university.

Most of her work focuses on portraiture and conceptual fine art. She works in both digital and film. She has exhibited her work in both student and faculty shows at the University of South Alabama. Her most recent work entitled “Possibilities” was selected for inclusion in the Tennessee Renaissance Center’s first annual exhibit “The Sky’s the Limit.”

Although she has taken different paths in her life, one constant has been photography. She resides in Nashville with her partner, their six-year-old daughter, and their furry family members. Email me: mwise@yahoo.com[/person_box]
